Grace Always Wins
People often describe grace as unmerited favor, which grants you access to what you do not deserve. This describes the position of a Christian who was lost and without hope of salvation before Jesus came to die as payment for our sins.
Thus, Paul says that if God did not spare His own Son, but gave Him in exchange for our sin debt, will He not, with Jesus, give us all things? (Romans 8:32). With this assurance, we must then live in the knowledge that God’s grace transcends all that we can ever face, and we are more than conquerors through Jesus who died for us.
“And God is able to make all grace abound toward you, that you, always having all sufficiency in all things, may have an abundance for every good work.” 2 Corinthians 9:8 (NKJV)
We see how Jesus treated the Samaritan woman with love and respect and showed grace to her, even though she was undeserving of mercy. He not only sat and spoke to her, but He also offered eternal life to her.
We, at so many points of our lives, even as Christians, have fallen short of God’s glory; we have reverted to our old ways and sinned. Sometimes, we feel so guilty and dirty that we try to hide from God’s love. However, through our Christian journey, grace wins at all times, giving us room for growth, healing, and sanctification.
Just as children that have the love and graces of their parents no matter what they do, we have God’s grace in abundance as we go through all the seasons of our Christian journey. Each stage is full of its challenges and requires us to grow.
We daily face diverse temptations and trials, but we do not do this by our strength but through the Spirit’s guidance. As such, we are more than conquerors in Christ through His grace that helps us become victorious Christians.
